[[Assam Rifles]] is not an armed police force but a [[regiment]] of the [[Indian Army]].<br />

Excluding [[Special Protection Group]] only the following six forces which come under [[Ministry of Home Affairs (India)|Ministry of Home Affairs]] have been considered as [[Central Armed Police Forces|Central Armed Police forces]] (CAPFs) from March 2011 to avoid confusion. Before 2011 they were considered as CPOs since 01 Jan 1986.
