The artificial intelligence (AI) market in India is anticipated to reach $8 billion by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) exceeding 40% from 2020 to 2025. This growth is part of a global AI boom characterized by rapid technological advancements. India emerged as a pioneer in the early 2010s with the development of natural language processing (NLP) based chatbots from companies like Haptik, Corover.ai, and Niki.ai. The early 2020s saw a surge in prominence due to advancements in reinforcement learning, exemplified by generative AI models such as those developed by OpenAI, Krutrim, and AlphaFold from Google DeepMind. In India, AI has significantly transformed various sectors, including healthcare, finance, and education.
