Yerragondapalem mandal is one of the mandals in the Markapur revenue division in thePrakasam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[1]
History[edit]
In 1970, Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[2]
Geography[edit]
Yerragondapalem mandal covers an area of 1,147 sq km.[3]

According to the 2011 census, Yerragondapalem mandal has a population of 64,063.[3]

- Sri Gowthami Degree College, established in 1994 at Yerragondapalem and affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University, offers arts, science and commerce.[4]
- Government Model Degree College, established in 2008 at Yerragondapalem and affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University, offers arts, science and commerce courses.[5][6]
- Government Junior College, established in 1976 at Yerragondapalem, is a Telugu medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching in classes XI and XII.[7]
- Mother Theressa VOC Junior College, established in 2008 at Yerragondapalem, is an English medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching in classes XI and XII.[8]
- Gowtham Junior College, established in 2012 at Yerragondapalem, is a Telugu medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching in classes XI and XII.[9]
- Government High School, established in 1954 at Yerragondapalem, is a Telugu medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X.[10]
- DMSBC Girls High School, established in 1982 at at Yerragondapalem, is a Telugu medium, girls only institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X.[11]
- AP TWRS High School, established in 1986 at Yerragondapalem, is an English medium, boys only institution, having facilities for teaching from class III to class X.[12]
- Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGVB), established in 2007 at Yerragondapalem, is a Telugu medium, girls only institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X. The KGBV schools aim to provide quality education up to class XII to girls belonging to SC, ST, OBC, minority communities and BPL families, to ensure smooth transition of girls from elementary to secondary and up to class XII stage. KGBV provides the facility to have at-least one residential school for girls from Classes VI-XII in every educationally backward block.[13][14]
- Chaitanya High School, established in 2008 at Yerragondapalem, is a Telugu medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X.[15]
