Pedacherlo Palle mandal is one of the mandals in the Kanigiri revenue division in the Prakasam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[1]

History[edit]

In 1970, Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[2]

Geography[edit]

Pedacherlo Palle mandal covers an area of 358 sq km.[3]

Demographics[edit]

According to the 2011 census, Pedacherlo Palle mandal has a population of 36,985.[3]

The literacy rate in Pedacherlo Palle mandal was 50.29%.[3]

Education[edit]

  • Government Junior College, established in 2001 at Peddacherlapalli, is a Telugu medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching in classes XI and XII.[4]
  • Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGVB) was established in 2008 at Pedacherlo Palle, is a Telugu medium, girls only institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X. The KGBV schools aim to provide quality education up to class XII to girls belonging to SC, ST, OBC, minority communities and BPL families. to ensure smooth transition of girls from elementary to secondary and upto class XII. KGBV provides the facility to have at-least one residential school for girls from Classes VI-XII in every educationally backward block.[5][6]
  • Zilla Parishad High School, established in 1961 at Pedacherlo Palle, is a Telugu medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X.[7]
