Pamuru
Pamuru (also called Pamur) is a census town in the Pamuru mandal in the Kanigiri revenue division of the Prakasam district in the Coastal Andhra region of Andhra Pradesh, India.
History[edit]
Ongole district was created in 1970 with three revenue divisions of Kurnool, Guntur and Nellore districts. In 1972, it was renamed Prakasam district in memory of Tanguturi Prakasam, freedom fighter, chief Minister of undivided Madras state and the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Presently (2023), it has 38 mandals in 3 revenue divisions.[1][2][3]
Demographics[edit]
According to the 2011 census, Pamuru had a population of 20,000. It had a literacy rate of 75.3%.[4]
