Hanumanthunipadu mandal is one of the mandals in the Kanigiri revenue division in thePrakasam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. [1]

History

Nellore district formed part of the composite Madras State till 1 October 1953. On 1 November 1956 when the states were reorganized on a linguistic basis, this district came under the Andhra Pradesh State.[2]

In 1970 Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[3]

Tirupati District formed from a part of old Chittoor district and a part from old Nellore district on 4 April, 2022.[4]

The name of Nellore district has been changed as Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District on 4 June, 2008. [2]

Hanumanthunipadu mandal covers an area of 407 sq km. [5]

Demographics

According to the 2011 census, Hanumanthunipadu mandal has a population of 30,964.[5]

The literacy rate in Hanumanthunipadu mandal was 50.52 %. [5]

Education

Zilla Parishad High School, established in 1963 at Hanumanthunipadu, is a Telugu medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X. [6]
