Peddaraveedu is a village in Prakasam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a gram panchayat and the mandal headquarters of Peddaraveedu mandal in Markapur revenue division.[1][2]
History
Ongole district was created in 1970 with three revenue divisions of Kurnool, Guntur and Nellore districts. In 1972, it was renamed Prakasam district in memory of Tanguturi Prakasam, freedom fighter, chief Minister of undivided Madras state and the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Presently (2023), it has 38 mandals in 3 revenue divisions.[3][4][5]

Peddaraveedu covers an area of 22.95 sq km.[6]

According to the 2011 census, Peddaraveedu village had a population of 5,547. It had a literacy rate of 54.60%.[2]
