Bestavaripeta is a village in Prakasam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Bestavaripeta mandal in Markapur revenue division.[1]:16[3]

Ongole district was created in 1970 with three revenue divisions of Kurnool, Guntur and Nellore districts. In 1972, it was renamed Prakasam district in memory of Tanguturi Prakasam, freedom fighter, chief Minister of undivided Madras state and the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Presently (2023), it has 38 mandals in 3 revenue divisions.[4][5][6]

Bestavaripeta has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 63% of the males and 42% of females literate. 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
