Chhaava


Chhaava (lit. transl.Lion's cub) is a historical action film in Hindi that was released in February 2025. The movie centers around the life of Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who was the second ruler of the Maratha Confederacy, with Vicky Kaushal portraying the lead role. This film is based on the Marathi novel Chhava authored by Shivaji Sawant. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, the cast also features Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna.

Pre-production for the film kicked off in April 2023, with shooting starting in October 2023 and concluding in May 2024. The score and soundtrack were composed by A. R. Rahman, featuring lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil and Kshitij Patwardhan. The film had its theatrical release on 14 February 2025, available in both standard and IMAX formats. Within its first four days, it has grossed over ₹205 crore (approximately US$24 million), making it the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025.[5]
