Vakadu is a village on the bank of Swarnamukhi/Suvarnamukhi[1] and a Mandal in Nellore district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[2] Vakadu is the birthplace of Ex-C.M. of Andhra Pradesh Dr. Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy & Padmasri Nedurumalli Bala Krishna Reddy.[citation needed]

As per some historical evidences, Vakadu village was called as "Vandanapuri" in ancient times.[citation needed]
