Ulavapadu is a village in Nellore district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Ulavapadu is famous for variety of mangoes such as banginapalli, rasalu and also famous for a variety of Sapotas in Prakasam and Nellore districts. The fruits produced here are exported to various states and countries. It is the mandal headquarters of Ulavapadu mandal in Kandukur revenue division.[1]

History[edit]

Nellore district formed part of the composite Madras State till 1 October 1953. On 1 November 1956 when the states were reorganized on a linguistic basis, this district came under the Andhra Pradesh State.[2]

In 1970 Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[3]

Tirupati District formed from a part of old Chittoor district and a part from old Nellore district on 4 April 2022.[4]

The name of Nellore district has been changed as Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District on 4 June 2008.[2]
