Kavali is a town[3][4] in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh of India.[5][6] It is headquarters of Kavali mandal.

[7][8] It is one of the few cities from Andhra Pradesh which were selected for Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Scheme.[9][10]

In 1970 Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[12]

Tirupati District formed from a part of old Chittoor district and a part from old Nellore district on 4 April 2022.[13]
