In Bihar there are seventeen state universities, 1 IIT and other four central universities operating in Bihar while Vikramshila Central University and National Skill Central University is proposed, AMU Kishanganj is off-campus center of AMU, two deemed universities, and five private universities are currently functional with 1 more proposed.
