Bani is a village and a tehsil in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, India.[1] The place is best known for Shakti Mata Mandir which have rich history. The place has many legendary temples like Jorian Wali Mata, Doullah Mata, Dhaji Mata, Galu Mata, Famous Shiv temple at Chaunri etc. The place is 'Land of Gods'.
The village has huge potential for tourism with places like Sarthal valley, Dhaggar, Khajiar, Gatti Dam etc. People can trek to Tranglote, a mountain famous for Naag devta. The place has a glacier known as Vaskund which tributes Sewa River. A facebook page by the name Mesmerizing Bani has been dedicated to the place. [2] [3]
