Allur mandal is one of the 38 mandals in the Nellore district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[1] It is a part of Nellore revenue division
History[edit | edit source]
Nellore district formed part of the composite Madras State till 1 October 1953. On 1 November 1956 when the states were reorganized on a linguistic basis, this district came under the Andhra Pradesh State.[2]
In 1970 Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[3]
Tirupati District formed from a part of old Chittoor district and a part from old Nellore district on 4 April 2022.[4]
The name of Nellore district has been changed as Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District on 4 June 2008.[2]

Allur mandal covers an area of 30.28 sq km.[5]
Demographics[edit | edit source]
According to the 2011 census, Allur mandal has a population of 11,656, out which 5,768 (49%) were males and 5,888 (51%) were females.[5]
The literacy rate in Allur mandal was 61.82%.[5]
