Marripadu is a village in the Martpadu mandal in the Nellore district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is located at the border of Nellore district. It produces tobacco. It is on the banks of small river called Boggeru. Somasila Project, Udayagiri are the adjacent tourist places.[1]

History

Nellore district formed part of the composite Madras State till 1 October 1953. On 1 November 1956 when the states were reorganized on a linguistic basis, this district came under the Andhra Pradesh State.[2]

In 1970 Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[3]

Tirupati District formed from a part of old Chittoor district and a part from old Nellore district on 4 April 2022.[4]

The name of Nellore district has been changed as Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District on 4 June 2008.[2]
