He is Chatur's biggest rival in college, Pia's love interest and Farhan and Raju's close friend, who had made a deal with the real Ranchhoddas' late father that he will assume the Ranchhoddas' identity at ICE for four years and cut off all contact with everyone there after graduating. He is later revealed to be a successful scientist and inventor based in [[Ladakh]], who works as a schoolteacher when he is not conducting research.

* [[Kareena Kapoor]] as Pia Sahastrabuddhe; an intelligent medical student, who is Virus' younger daughter and Mona's younger sister. She is Rancho's love interest and a close friend of Farhan and Raju too along with him, who falls in love with Rancho after he shows her the materialistic side of her ex-boyfriend Suhas.

* [[Sharman Joshi]] as Raju Rastogi; a god-fearing student at ICE, who is afraid of both failure and job in the concern of his hardworking mother, paralyzed father, and unwed sister. He is Chatur's biggest rival in college and Rancho, Farhan and Pia's close friend, who eventually secures a job in an engineering firm, and is later revealed to be living a reputed lifestyle with his wife in [[Delhi]].

* [[Omi Vaidya]] as Chatur Ramalingam (nicknamed "Silencer"); a competitive, arrogant, Uganda-born student at ICE, who has studied in [[Pondicherry]] and believes in learning by rote memorization. He is the biggest rival of the trio and consumes some memory-enhancing pills with the side-effect of farting off in a silent and yet lethal way.

* [[Boman Irani]] as Dr. Viru Sahastrabuddhe (nicknamed "Virus"); the strict and controlling director of ICE, who believes in a competitive cut-throat education system. He is Pia and Mona's father, whose draconian teaching philosophy always results in him being at odds with the trio.

* [[Mona Singh]] as Mona Sahastrabuddhe; Virus' older daughter and Pia's older sister, whose wedding is gatecrashed by the trio, but is eventually helped by them in delivering her baby, after she goes under labor pain during a heavy rainstorm.

* Javed Jaffrey as the real Ranchhoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad (nicknamed "Rancho"); the son of the wealthy personality Shyamaldas Chanchad based in [[Shimla]], who was interested in just earning a degree than learning, and therefore, tasked his family's gardener's son Rancho to assume his identity at ICE, while he himself went to [[London]] for four years.

* Parikshit Sahni as Salim Qureshi (nicknamed "Hitler Qureshi" by Rancho); Farhan's orthodox father who forced him to pursue engineering, but was eventually convinced to let him become a wildlife photographer.
