Podalakur is a town in the Podalaakur mandal in the Nellore district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1][2]
History[edit | edit source]
Nellore district formed part of the composite Madras State till 1 October 1953. On 1 November 1956 when the states were reorganized on a linguistic basis, this district came under the Andhra Pradesh State.[3]
In 1970 Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[4]
Tirupati District formed from a part of old Chittoor district and a part from old Nellore district on 4 April 2022.[5]
The name of Nellore district has been changed as Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District on 4 June 2008.[3]

Podalakur is located at 14°22′00″N 79°44′00″E / 14.3667°N 79.7333°E.[6] It has an average elevation of 43 meters (141 feet). The nearest railway station is in Vedayapalam which is located at a distance of 2.22 Km.
