Duttalur or Duthalur is a village in Duttalur mandal in Nellore district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]

History

Nellore district formed part of the composite Madras State till 1 October 1953. On 1 November 1956 when the states were reorganized on a linguistic basis, this district came under the Andhra Pradesh State.[2]

In 1970 Prakasam district was formed from parts of Guntur, Kurnool, and Nellore districts.[3]

Tirupati District formed from a part of old Chittoor district and a part from old Nellore district on 4 April 2022.[4]

The name of Nellore district has been changed as Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District on 4 June 2008.[2]

Geography

Duttalur is located at 14°51′00″N 79°25′00″E / 14.8500°N 79.4167°E / 14.8500; 79.4167.[5] It has an average elevation of 134 meters (442 feet). It is located in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, about 46 km from the nearest town.

The village is spread over an area of 7584 hectares.

Demographics

It has a population of 6509 people, according to 2011 census data. The number of males in the village is 3295, and females 3214. The number of people in scheduled castes is 1255 and the number of scheduled tribes is 204. The census location code of the village is 591777.
