Thotlavalluru mandal is one of the 25 mandals in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is under the administration of Vijayawada revenue division and its headquarters are located at North Valluru.[2][3] The mandal lies on the banks of Krishna River and is bounded by Kankipadu, Vuyyuru and Pamidimukkala mandals.[4] The mandal is also a part of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region under the jurisdiction of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority|.[5]

History[edit]

Krishna district was formed by renaming Machilipatnam district and adding certain taluks of Guntur district in 1859. Krishna district was divided into Krishna and Godavari districts in 1925. During the reorganisation of Andhra Pradesh Krishna district was further divided into Krishna and NTR districts. [6]

Krishna district has 25 mandals spread across three revenue divisions – Machilipatnam revenue division, Gudivada revenue division and Vuyyuru revenue division. [7]
