Pamarru is a village in the Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Thotlavalluru mandal in the Vijayawada revenue division.[1][2]
History[edit]
NTR district was carved out of Krishna district in 2022.[3]
Geography[edit]
Pamarru covers an area of 17.80 sq km.[4]
Demographics[edit]
In the 2011 census, Pamarru had a population of 21,395, of which 10,366 (48%) were males and 11,029 (50%) were females.
Pamarru had a literate population of 15,311 and they formed 71.56% of the population.[4]
Education[edit]
The following institutions are located in Pamarru:
- Pamarru Government Degree College, established in 2000, offers courses in arts, science and commerce.[5][6]
- Chaitanya Degree College offers various courses. The popular courses include: B.Sc (mathematics, physics and computer science), B.Com. in computers.[7]
- Government Junior College, established in 1981, is a Telugu medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching in classes XI and XII.[8]
- APSWR Boys’ School, established in 2014, is an English-medium boys only institution, having facilities for teaching from class V to class XII.[9]
- Assisi High School, established in 1981, is an English medium coeducational institute, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X.[10]
- ANM High School, established in 1992, is an English medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to Class X.[11]
- Arunodya High School, established in 2006, is an English medium coeducational institution, having facilities for teaching from class VI to class X.[12]
