Arunita Kanjilal is an Indian semi-classical singer from Kolkata, West Bengal. She sings songs in Bengali and Hindi languages. In 2013, at the age of ten she won the Bengali singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla. She participated in Indian Idol 12, where she was the first runner up.[1]

At the age of two, she started learning singing from her mother.[2]
Musical career[edit | edit source]
In 2013 she participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla,[3] a Bengali music reality show and became the winner.[citation needed] That gave her first playback as a singer and she sang a song for a Bengali film Aparichit, music composed by Kumar Sanu.[citation needed] The next year she participated in the Zee TV singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs 2014.[4] The year 2016 was memorable for her as she got a chance to perform a show in honour of Vijay Thakur.[citation needed] In 2020–2021 she participated in Indian Idol Season 12 and stood at second place.[5] Singer Bappi Lahiri offers Arunita to record for him after hearing her performance.[6] Arunita became the youngest Indian at 18 years of age to perform at Wembley SSE Arena in London (UK).[7] She was part of the Magnificent Four UK Tour in October–November 2021.[8]
