Former Chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh lay the thrust on development programmes for all sectors and said three lakh unemployed educated youths would be given jobs if the ruling Congress returns to power for the fourth consecutive term. Over eight lakh unemployed youths have registered with the employment department for jobs.[citation needed]

Background

The tenure of Manipur Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be end on 19 March 2022.[1] The previous assembly elections were held in March 2017. After the election, coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party, National People's Party, Naga People's Front and Lok Janshakti Party formed the state government, with N. Biren Singh becoming Chief Minister.
