WikiProject Lucknow is a project that was launched on 16 August 2014 by Wikiboy2364 and is aimed at creating, filling out, building, editing, constructing and modifying articles about Lucknow. Lucknow is a historical city of India and a popular city in the world being the capital of the most populous state in India. It is a center of culture and has a unique charm attached to it.
We would like you to join this project, and would love your help, so please add your name to the list below, and look at the to-do list for some suggestions on articles that you may be able to help with.

Scope[edit source]
The scope of this article fundamentally is loosely defined as all articles and sections relating to Lucknow Region (Malihabad, Kakori, Amethi, Bakshi Ka Talab, Lucknow and Gosainganj, Itaunja, Mahona, Nagram) and Lucknow district. Almost all of these will be (eventually) categorised under Category:Lucknow, Category:Lucknow district, Category:Uttar Pradesh and Category:India.

Parentage[edit source]
The parents of this WikiProject are WikiProject Cities, and WikiProject India whose relevance is somewhat limited vis-a-vis documenting a single very large city and the many communities within it.
At a state level, the parent of this project is WikiProject Uttar Pradesh.
Goals[edit source]
This WikiProject aims to help organize and contribute to the growing collection of articles about Lucknow.
This can be achieved by:
- Develop: Improve and maintain articles that are on the worklist, cleanup list, or requested on the project talk page.
- Coordinate:
- Tag all Lucknow-relevant articles with {{WikiProject Lucknow}}, and assess and prioritize articles missing assessment or importance values.
- Categorize Lucknow related articles, including with stub tags and navigation boxes.
- Support: Invite more users to join with {{subst:WikiProject Lucknow invitation}} and assist them whenever possible.

There is community consensus that the lead sentence of an article should not contain any regional or Indic language script. It is suggested that IPA be used for help with pronunciation. For details, refer to this RfC: Native languages in lead.
