Development[edit]

Animal was officially announced by T-Series on 31 December, 2020, with an announcement video with Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Parineeti Chopra as the cast and Sandeep Reddy Vanga as the director.[13]

Casting[edit]

A few days later after the film announcement, Tripti Dimri was reported to play a role in the film.[14] In March 2022, it was reported that Rashmika Mandanna replaced Chopra, due to scheduling conflicts with her film Chamkila.[15] Mandanna has been roped in to play Ranbir's wife Geetanjali.[16]

Filming[edit]

Principal photography began in Manali in April 2022.[17][18] The second schedule was in Mumbai in May 2022 and filming was held at Pataudi Palace in July 2022.[19] The next schedules were held in Delhi and Punjab.[20][21] The filming was wrapped up in mid-March. The film resumed in England and Scotland beginning in April with a schedule of 15–20 days.[22]
