Bugganipalle is a census town in Kurnool district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.[1]

History

In 1953, 11 Telugu speaking districts of Madras State became Andhra State with Kurnool as its capital. In 1956, Andhra State and Telangana merged together to form Andhra Pradesh. As per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, 10 districts were carved out of Andhra Pradesh to form Telangana.[1]

In 2022, the larger Kurnool district was split into Kurnool and Nandyal districts.[2]

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[3] Bugganipalle had a population of 11,470. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Bugganipalle has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 70% and female literacy of 45%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
