Legislative Assembly elections were held in Rajasthan on 25 November 2023 to elect 199 of the 200 members of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly . The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 3 December 2023. The election for the remaining 1 seat has been adjourned.[3]
Background
The tenure of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 14 January 2024.[4] The previous assembly elections were held in December 2018. After the election, Indian National Congress formed the state government , with Ashok Gehlot becoming Chief Minister .[5]
Schedule
The schedule of the election was announced by the Election Commission of India on 9 October 2023.[6] However, the election date was postponed from 23 November 2023 to 25 November 2023.[7] [8]
