Kuttur is located 20.1 km east of Payyanur town, 3.3 km away from Mathamangalam and 38.8 km north of Kannur city.

The national highway (NH 66) passes through Perumba junction. Goa and Mumbai can be accessed on the northern side and Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram can be accessed on the southern side. The road to the east of Iritty connects to Mysore and Bangalore. The nearest railway station is Payyanur on the Shoranur–Mangalore section under Southern Railway. The nearest airport is Kannur International, about 54 km away.
