Mantralayam is a pilgrim village located in the Mantralayam mandal in the Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, India. In 1953, 11 Telugu speaking districts of Madras State became Andhra State with Kurnool as its capital. In 1956, Andhra State and Telangana merged together to form Andhra Pradesh. As per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, 10 districts were carved out of Andhra Pradesh to form Telangana.[4]
In 2022, the larger Kurnool district was split into Kurnool and Nandyal districts.[5]

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation operates regular and luxury bus services. The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus services are also available. The nearest railway station is Mantralayam Road Railway Station. Other railway stations are Raichur, Adoni and Wadi. Many trains running along the Mumbai-Chennai route stop at Mantralayam Road station though all of them stop at Raichur. Mantralayam Road is 16km away from the Mutt which is considered the center point of Mantralayam village.
