Devarapalle is a village in the East Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. [1]It is located in Devarapalli mandal in Kovvur revenue division and Gopalapuram Assembly Constituency

History[edit | edit source]

Rajahmundry district was formed in 1823 and in 1859 bifurcated into Godavari District and Krishna district. In 1925, Godavari district was split into East Godavari district and West Godavari district.[2][3]

The reorganisation of the districts in 2022 increased the number of districts in Andhra Pradesh from 13 to 26.[4]

Demographics[edit | edit source]

As of 2011 Census of India, Devarapalle had a population of 14796. The total population constitute, 7399 males and 7397 females with a sex ratio of 1000 females per 1000 males. 1546 children are in the age group of 0–6 years, with sex ratio of 1000. The average literacy rate stands at 71.65%.[5]
