Shivangi Joshi (born 18 May 1995[1][2]) is an Indian television actress.[3] She gained major popularity for portraying Naira Singhania Goenka in Star Plus's longest running television soap opera Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai from 2016 to 2021 and presently stars as Sirat Shekhawat in the same show.[4][5]
Early life[edit]
Joshi was born in Pune, Maharashtra.[6] She did her schooling in her hometown, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.[7][8]
Career[edit]
Joshi made her television debut in 2013 with Zee TV's Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi.[8] Subsequently, she went on to play Aayat Haider in Beintehaa and Poonam Thakur in Begusarai, opposite Vishal Aditya Singh.
In 2016, Joshi began portraying Naira Singhania Goenka in Star Plus's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, opposite Mohsin Khan.[8] Her highly appreciated character of Naira was killed off in the show in January 2021, following which she started enacting a new character of Sirat Shekhawat in the same.
In 2020, she was about to make her debut at the Cannes Film Festival with a film titled Our Own Sky.[9] But due to coronavirus,the film was later released in the OTT platform.[10]
