Punit Kumar (born 8 August 1994) is an Indian rower from Uttar Pradesh. He is named in the Indian rowing team for the 2022 Asian Games at Hangzhou, China. He competes in the men's coxed eight event. He was part of the team that won the silver medal in the Coxed eight event in the 2022 Asian Games.[1][2][3]
The Indian team consisted of Neeraj Maan, Naresh Kalwaniya, Neetish Kumar, Charanjeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar and Ashish Guliyan. Dhananjay Pande was the coxswain of the team. All the Indian team members are from the Indian Army and have trained at the Army Rowing Node facility in Pune for over a year.
Early life[edit]
Punit hails from Kakra, Shahpur block, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Early childhood he played kabaddi. But due to financial difficulties at home, he joined Army at the age of 18, where Punit took up rowing.[4]

- 2023: Men's coxed four in the Rowing World Cup, Lucerne, Switzerland.
- 2022: Men's coxed eight in the Rowing World Cup at Poznan.
- 2022: Men's coxed four in the Rowing World Cup, Belgrade.
- 2022: Men's coxed four in the Asian Championships, Rayong, Thailand.
- 2021: Men's coxed four in the Asian Championships, Rayong, Thailand
