Neeraj Maan


Neeraj Maan (born 14 December 1999) is an Indian rower from Uttar Pradesh.[1] He is named in the Indian rowing team for the 2022 Asian Games at Hangzhou, China.[2] He competes in the men's coxed eight event. He was part of the team that won the silver medal in the men's coxed eight at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.[3][4][5][6]

The Indian team consisted of Neeraj Maan, Naresh Kalwaniya, Neetish Kumar, Charanjeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar and Ashish.[7] Dhananjay Pande was the coxswain of the team. All the Indian team members are from the Indian Army and have trained at the Army Rowing Node facility in Pune for over a year.[3]

Early lifeEdit

Neeraj hails from Khawaja Nangla, a small Village in Chhaprauli Block of Baghpat District in Uttar Pradesh.[3] He is 189 cm tall and usually rows the first seat. He started rowing at the age of 13.

CareerEdit

  • 2023: In September, he won a silver medal as part of the Indian team in the men's coxed eight at the 2022 Asian Games.[8][9]
  • 2023: In February, as part of the Coxless Fours team of the Army, he won a silver medal at the 40th Senior National Rowing Championship at the Army Rowing Node, Pune.[10]
  • 2022: In January, as part of the men's coxed eight SER team, he won the gold at the 39th Senior National Rowing Championship at the Army Rowing Node, Pune.[10]
  • 2016: In November/ December, he won gold as part of the Junior men's coxless four BSC team at Kollam, Kerala.[10]
