Isha Malviya is an Indian actress, model, dancer and social media personality. She is known for portraying Jasmine Kaur Sandhu in the Colors TV television series Udaariyaan and for participating in the reality television show Bigg Boss 17.
Early life[edit | edit source]
Isha Malviya was born on 2 November 2003 in Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh. She began performing and dancing at a young age and subsequently entered modelling and beauty-pageant competitions. The Times of India reported that she began her modelling journey as a teenager.[1]
According to an interview with The Times of India, Malviya started dancing at the age of six and auditioned for several dance reality programmes, including Dance Deewane, Dance Plus, Boogie Woogie and Dance India. She later moved towards modelling after not finding success through those auditions.[1]
Acting career[edit | edit source]
Malviya made her television acting debut with the Colors TV drama series Udaariyaan, produced by Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey. She played Jasmine Kaur Sandhu, one of the show's principal characters. Colors TV's official character page identifies Malviya with Udaariyaan.[2]
Malviya said that Sargun Mehta had discovered her through Instagram and contacted her about auditioning for the series. She travelled to Chandigarh for a mock shoot and subsequently joined the production. official website lists Isha Malviya among the Indian contestants for the 2019 edition. The Times of India reported that she finished as the second runner-up.[2]
Music videos[edit | edit source]
Before and during her early acting career, Malviya appeared in several Hindi and Punjabi music videos. These include “Jiske Liye”, performed by B Praak, “Tu Mileya” by Sohil Khan and “Bomb Bomb” by MusikStar. The Times of India reported these appearances as part of her early career.[1]
Bigg Boss 17[edit | edit source]
In 2023, Malviya participated in the seventeenth season of the Indian reality television programme Bigg Boss. The season premiered in October 2023. Her participation brought her wider recognition outside of Udaariyaan. The Times of India profiled her as a contestant and described her earlier modelling, pageant and television career.[1]
