Plot[edit]

The story revolves around a love triangle between Fateh Singh Virk and two sisters, Tejo and Jasmine Sandhu. In the beginning, Tejo’s wedding is finalized with a man named Jas. However, he turns out to be a fraud and steals all of the expensive items on the wedding day. While Fateh is a national boxing champion, Tejo is a college professor. Both of them wish to make their future in Moga, while Jasmine only has one dream, to go to Canada.

Fateh has been in love with Jasmine and wishes to marry her. Jasmine too falls for him and agrees for marriage after Fateh gets a job in Canada. However, she breaks relations with him when she finds out he lost his job. Later on, she regrets her decision after seeing love Fateh holds for her but by then it's too late. In order to save the family’s reputation, Tejo and Fateh both marry. Afterwards, Tejo falls for Fateh even though he still loved Jasmine. Jasmine, harshly regretting her decisions confesses her love to him while also plotting against Tejo. As Fateh accepts her back and cheats on Tejo, Tejo wishes for a divorce. To worsen the current circumstances, Jasmine brings back Jas.

Later on, Tejo gets engaged to Angad so Fateh and Jasmine could get married. As both Fateh and Jasmine are about to leave for Canada, Fateh burns her boarding ticket and passport, revealing to her that the wedding was fake and planned by him when he finds out about the misdeeds Jasmine committed to attain him. On the other hand, Angad falls in love with Tejo, but she declares him as a friend. Fateh and Jasmine go their separate ways, though Jasmine vows to seek vengeance from Fateh.

After many trials tribulations, Fateh and Tejo end up together. Angad and Jasmine both join hands to separate them, but later, Angad realizes his evil deeds and leaves. Jasmine ends up marrying Amrik (Fateh's brother) when she was trying to marry Fateh for revenge. Later on, Fateh, Tejo, Amrik and Jasmine get into a car accident where Jasmine turns over a new leaf after seeing Amrik and Tejo's love for her. In a turn of events, as Fateh and Tejo are about to get engaged, Fateh breaks relations with her after finding out she hid Jasmine's misdeeds against Amrik. In anger, Tejo decides to marry Angad but on the wedding day, she finds out she is pregnant with Fateh's child. Angad tells her to go to Fateh, but in reality sets her up to get burned alive in a warehouse.

6 months later[edit]

Jasmine and Amrik decide to go to London and start their life afresh as everyone in their family were still refusing to accept their relationship especially after Tejo's death. In London, Jasmine and Amrik come across Tanya, Tejo's look-alike. Angad, also residing in London believes Tanya is Tejo and wishes to kill her. Tanya admits to being Tejo and accuses Fateh and Jasmine of trying to kill her.

In the end, Angad's true face is revealed and he is arrested for Tejo's murder. Amrik ends up dying while saving Tanya. In a shocking event, it's revealed that Tanya isn't Tejo and assigned by the cops to find out the truth behind Tejo's murder. Tanya, Jasmine and Fateh return to Moga and have Tanya pretend to be Tejo.

Jasmine finds out she is pregnant with Amrik's child and is determined to give her child the perfect life. She once again becomes obsessed with getting Fateh as she wants him to raise the child with her. Shockingly however, Tanya reunites Tejo, who is now mentally unstable after the fire, with Fateh. Jasmine continues plotting against her but fails in every one of her attempts.

Later, Fateh marries Tejo and she eventually regains her memories. Later, Jasmine ends up miscarrying and fakes her pregnancy. She pretends to give birth and leaves an orphan at the hospital, claiming it to be Amrik and her child. Tejo and Fateh know the truth but for the family's happiness, keep it a secret and raise the child as their own daughter. They name her Nehmat. Jasmine, on the other hand, marries Yash and moves to Canada, finally accomplishing her lifelong dream. However, she is in for a rude awakening as Yash starts mistreating her.

6 years later[edit]

Jasmine returns to India with her daughter Naaz, suffering from domestic violence by Yash and his mother, however, Rupi refuses to accept her. Tejo and Fateh lovingly raise Nehmat while Jasmine and Naaz barely get by. Jasmine decides to leave Naaz with her family so she can attain the love and happiness she deserved. Jasmine leaves a note stating that she doesn't wish to meet them again as she is not a great person to have in anyone's life. Naaz and Nehmat become friends and treat each other like sisters. However, Naaz starts getting jealous of the attention Nehmat gets and misses Jasmine. Seeing this, Fateh and Tejo decide it would be best to also adopt Naaz. Unfortunately, before this could happen, Fateh, Tejo and the Virks all die in a car accident. Nehmat, Naaz and the Sandhu family are left devastated.

16 years later[edit]

Nehmat and Naaz are all grown up. Nehmat and Ekam are madly in love. Ekam, a trainee IPS officer wishes to help Nehmat find the reason behind the Virk family's accident and demise, as well as his father's suspension. Naaz is still suffering from inferiority complex due to all the attention Nehmat gets, wishing to snatch all her happiness. The only person who sees Naaz's true face is Mallika (Ekam's younger sister). Hence, the two don’t get along. Naaz tries to break Nehmat's friendship with Mallika by showing Advait, Mallika's fiance, and Nehmat in a secret affair. Moreover, she releases an article labeling Ekam’s father, Jayveer as a corrupt cop under Nehmat’s name, due to which he commits suicide. In reality, Advait only wishes to marry Mallika so Ekam doesn’t find out Shamsher, Advait's father, was behind the Virk family’s car accident. It’s revealed that Jasmine had instructed Shamsher to kill the Virk family.

Being pressurized by Naaz, Nehmat eventually marries Advait and falls victim to his tortures. Harleen (Jasmine's youngest daughter) also arrives in Moga to inform Nehmat that she is Advait's legal wife. However, she falls in love with Ekam, so she destroys the marriage certificate. Additionally, to keep Ekam away from Nehmat, she threatens Advait to keep Nehmat with him. After a series of events, Nehmat is proven innocent of all accusations. Shamsher and Advait duo try to stop Nehmat but remain unsuccessful. Though greatly loving Ekam, Nehmat still doesn't agree for marriage with him since she wants Ekam and Harleen to be together. Harleen after realizing that Ekam can never love anyone other than Nehmat, and seeing Ekam and Nehmat's love and care for each other, she reveals her marriage with Advait to the media, which happened three years previously in Canada, thus nullifying Advait's marriage with Nehmat.

During the Holika Dahan, Advait attempts to kill Harleen by putting her inside the Holika Dahan but Nehmat saves her. Ekam brings Advait to the police station and Nehmat and Harleen beat him up and he is locked up in jail. During the Holi festival, Ekam and Nehmat get closer after being intoxicated with Bhaang in their drink. Shamsher decides to forcefully bring Harleen to the police station for her to take back the complaint against Advait. After a series of events, Nehmat is shot by Shamsher but Harleen takes the bullet. Harleen eventually regains consciousness and becomes aware of the fact that she is infertile, but decides to not inform her family. Nehmat decides to sacrifice her love for Harleen by leaving Moga, so Harleen can get her love Ekam. But Ekam stops her and make her realize her love for him. Renuka too witnessed Nehmat and Ekam's love for each other and goes to Sandhu's house with Ekam's marriage proposal for Nehmat. Before Nehmat and Ekam's wedding preparations begins, Ekam and Nehmat secretly get married in Gurudwara and consummate their marriage. During wedding functions, Jasmine plots many conspiracies to call off Nehkam's wedding but fails. On wedding day, however, Nehmat gets blackmailed by Jasmine to cancel the wedding or she will frame Ekam for Advait's murder and have him die through death penalty. Thus, Nehmat breaks the marriage and leaves the wedding after rebuking Ekam's love. Under family pressure, Ekam and Harleen are married.

Nehmat leaves Moga and reaches Samrala. Nehmat encounters a con artist named Joginder who was faking to be Sartaj. Ekam goes on a mission to Samrala to arrest a smuggler gang, where Nehmat and Ekam feels each other's presence. Nehmat saves Ekam there, without his acknowledgement. After returning to Moga, Ekam plans to make Harleen visit local villages to cheer her up. Ekam and Harleen unintentionally end up in Samrala. Nehmat hides herself from Ekam and Harleen. Jogender discovers Ekam is a police officer, intoxicates Ekam and attemps to kill him, but Nehmat saves Ekam. Nehmat releases real Sartaj from Joginder's capture.

Later, it is revealed that Sartaj is the elder son of Balveer Randhawa. Naaz marries Balveer in order to gain full access to Rupi's ancestral land and the Randhawa house. Sartaj takes an injured Nehmat to Randhawa house claiming her to be his fiancée. Nehmat and Ekam are shocked and overwhelmed to see each other. Nehmat continues the drama of being Sartaj's fiancée so that Ekam can move on with Harleen.

Meanwhile, Ekam becomes obsessed with bringing Nehmat back in his life after finding out the truth as to why she broke the wedding. Eventually, Nehmat brings him back in the right path and they promise each other to move on in their lives. Ekam tells the truth to Harleen about his betrayal and Harleen blames Nehmat for everything. Jasmine brawinwashes Harleen into thinking that Nehmat will ruin Harleen's marriage and steal Ekam from her.

Amidst all this, Nehmat finds out that she is pregnant with Ekam's child and leaves with Sartaj concealing her pregnancy from Ekam. Despite Nehmat's exit from their lives, Harleen becomes adamant about having a child with Ekam so Ekam is bound to her. She tries multiple IVF treatments but nothing works. While she is at the hospital with Ekam to try for surrogacy, she finds out Nehmat has delivered a baby girl named Aliya. Afraid that she will lose Ekam to Nehmat, Harleen steals Aliya from the hospital by threatening and bribing a nurse to exchange Nehmat's baby with a dead child, She tells Ekam and whole family that she had adopted the child from an orphanage. Ekam too names the baby girl Aliya.

6 years later[edit]

Ekam and Harleen are living with Aliya. Nehmat with Sartaj is still mourning over Aliya's presumable death. Nehmat works at a summer camp, surrounded by children. Aliya convinces Harleen to let her go to the summer camp. Nehmat and Aliya form a bond without knowing that they are mother and daughter, but after Nehmat saves Aliya from an accident and goes to hospitalm Sartaj finds the truth and tells Nehmat.

Nehmat confronts Harleen who refuses to admit her sin, saying that Nehmat can’t snatch Aliya from her. Jasmine along with Harleen plan Nehmat's death, but instead Sartaj dies whilst Harleen's car also crashes into a river and she is presumed dead. Nehmat finds evidence of Jasmine failing her car brakes and gets her arrested.

Later, Ekam forcefully marries Nehmat for Aliya. Eventually with time they reconcile their love. Aliya also accepts Nehmat as her mother. Harleen, who is revealed to be alive, wakes up with a memory loss. After some months Harleen finally regains her memory and reaches Ekam's house. She is angry with Nehmat's presence there. Harleen goes to meet Jasmine in jail. Jasmine tells her that Ekam and Nehmat are married now. This makes Harleen determined to take revenge from Nehmat. Harleen tries to marry Ekam again but this time Ekam refuses to marry her because he is already married to Nehmat and loves her. Harleen pretends to be good and gets Nehmat and Ekam married again while plotting to destroy them both using Aliya.

Harleen plans a hostage situation at Aliya's school. Nehmat and Ekam try to save Aliya and a boy named Armaan. The goons ask Nehmat to exchange the three kids she saved in exchange of Aliya and Armaan. Nehmat refuses and the goon points the gun at Aliya's face. Aliya is shocked that Nehmat refused to save her. Sukhi, Armaan's father, curses at Nehmat for trying to be grand and says he woud have made the exchange. Armaan ends up biting the goon's hand and pushes Aliya to run away.

Amidst all this, Ekam, Nehmat and Sukhi battle the other goons and back up police arrives. Armaan gets a head injury and Sukhi rebukes Nehmat and calls her a bad mother. After this incident, Harleen poisons Aliya's mind against Nehmat and Aliya begins to hate Nehmat. Aliya wants Harleen back in her life as her mother, not knowing that Nehmat is her biological mother.

On Harleen's farewell party, Aliya misbehaves with Nehmat. To add to the drama, Sukhi comes with his goons to seek revenge against Nehmat and Ekam. Amidst the fight, Nehmat gets shot by Sukhi and Harleen runs away with Aliya. At the hospital, Nehmat and Ekam find out Harleen's truth and they reach the airport. Nehmat slaps Harleen and Ekam rebukes Harleen for coming into their life and deports her back to Canada. Aliya, who witnessed all this, exclaims that she hates Nehmat and Ekam from taking Harleen away from her. Nehmat and Ekam decide to not let Aliya know about Harleen's true face, which Harleen uses in her favor to keep in touch with Aliya and brainwash her against Nehmat and Ekam.

After reaching Canada, Harleen finds out she is pregnant with Ekam's child. Apparently, she had not stopped her IVF process at all despite it being risky. She vows to use her child growing in her womb and Aliya to destory Nehmat.

20 years later[edit]

Aliya is grown up now. Nehmat and Ekam are shown living with the Sandhus along with the rest of Randhawas. Aliya remains in contact with Harleen, whom she still considers her mother. Harleen constantly provokes Aliya to hate Nehmat and fakes herself to be all alone in front of Aliya, hence Aliya has only one dream: to go to Canada and see Harleen.

Ekam is at loggerheads with Sukhi and dislikes Sukhi and Armaan, so he doesn't know about Aliya's relationship with Armaan. Armaan also wants to go to Canada because of Aliya. On the other hand, Aasma wishes to come to India to learn about her heritage. She is being raised by Harleen, who is now an alcoholic, and Deepak Dhillon in Canada. Harleen is very strict with Aasma while Deepak pampers her.

Aliya and Armaan are constantly trying to come up with ways to go to Canada but nothing seems to work out. On the other hand, Aasma secures a project in university that will take her to Punjab. Harleen initially forbids Aasma from going to Punjab, but after Deepak tells her that she will drift from her own daughter, Harleen buys Aasma the tickets to India. Aasma and Deepak go to India on the condition that Deepak will keep Aasma away from Ekam and the Sandhus.

Aliya, Armaan and Aasma's path crosses multiple times. By fate, Armaan and Aasma keep meeting each other. Aliya, who is very possessive about Armaan, comes to dislike Aasma after a misunderstanding. Aasma also ends up meeting Ekam and the entire Sandhu family, with whom she feels at home.
