Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology is a public Engineering College, one of the 24 CFTI under MHRD located in the Malda district of West Bengal, India.[1]
History[edit]
The Institution was established in 2010, in the memory of A.B.A Ghani Khan Chowdhury,under the mentorship of NIT Durgapur, the foundation was done by Smt Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister of India Dr.Manmohan Singh , the foundation stone was laid by former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.
Campus[edit]
The college has 4 academic buildings, 1 administrative building, 2 hostels, 1 library and computing centre building,1 workshop building, staff quarters, and 1 canteen, with 101 acres of land, it has got both football and cricket ground. More constructions are going on. The construction department is guided by NIT Rourkela, civil engineering department.

Academic programmes[edit]
The institution offers 4 years Bachelor of Technology program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Food Technology department, besides 3 years Diploma are also available in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science and Food Technology. The academic department is governed by a board with representative from NIT Durgapur and IIT Patna.
Admission[edit]
The admissions to Bachelor of Technology program which is affiliated to MAKAUT is done through JOSAA counseling and JEE Mains result, while the diploma admission is done through the Institution's entrance Examination. 50% seats are reserved for the students of West Bengal, 25% are reserved for North East India candidates and the remaining 25% for states other than West Bengal and North East States.
Achievements[edit]
The college won Smart India Hackathon 2020 organized by MHRD in the Renewable Energy department.[citation needed]
