Bathinda International Cricket Stadium is a proposed cricket stadium in Bathinda, Punjab.[1][2]
In December 2007, Chief Minister of Punjab Prakash Singh Badal proposed building an international cricket stadium at Bathinda. The stadium had expenditure of 100 crore and will be located on 25 acres of land. The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) also gave permission to build a stadium and lent funds. The stadium will also include a cricket academy. [3]
The location of stadium was narrowed down to the PAU Regional Research Centre on the Bathinda-Dabwali Road by Bathinda Development Authority and Prakash Singh Badal laid the foundation of the stadium.[4][5] However, the project was caught in legal complications and misunderstanding between the agencies involved stalled the project.[6] 10 Years has passed since the foundation was laid, but nothing is built yet.
