Charekone is a small village in Siddapura Taluk Uttara Kannada District, Karnataka State; Which is about 32 kilometres (20 mi) from Sirsi and 28 kilometres (17 mi) from Siddapur.
It is nestled among the Western Ghats of Karnataka. Areca nut cultivation is the primary occupation of the people in this village.

Yakshagana (Kannada: ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ, pronounced as yaksha-gaana), most commonly played and practiced here.
Carpentry works including the making of musical instruments like tabla, mridangam, and chande are also done here, from wood in a traditional way - as it is associated with Yakshagana.
Clay works - Lord Ganesha and Saraswati idols are made here during the festive season.
