U GRO Capital (formerly known as Chokhani securities) an Indian Financial Services company which provides customized loans to MSMEs in India. Its headquartered in Mumbai, India.[1][2][3]
UGRO Capital is a listed company in National Stock Exchange (NSE: UGROCAP) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE: 511742). The company's shares are traded under the symbol UGROCAP.[4][5]
The company's AUM and Net Worth as on Mar-23 was INR 6,081 Cr and INR 984 Cr respectively.[6]
UGRO Capital is a non-deposit taking NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company) registered with the Reserve Bank of India.
HistoryEdit
In 1994, The company was incorporated in Maharashtra as a Private Limited Company in the name and style of Chokhani Securities. In 1995, The company had proposed to carry out merchant banking activities and had received an approval in principle from SEBI as Category I Merchant Banker.
The company was acquired by financial services veteran Mr. Shachindra Nath in 2018 and was later changed its name to U GRO Capital.[7]
In April 2021, U GRO Capital partnered with SBM Bank India to launch 'GRO Smart Business' credit card for MSMEs.[8]
In July 2021, the company launched 'Pratham', INR 1,000 Cr MSME Co-lending Program in partnership with Bank of Baroda.[9]
In the same year, State Bank of India and Central Bank of India entered into a co-lending agreement with U GRO Capital.[10][11]
In June 2023, IFU, a Government of Denmark's Development Financial Institution invested DKK 200 million in UGRO Capital to support green finance for MSMEs in India.[12]
