Shefali Jariwala (born 15 December 1982), better known as the Kaanta Laga Girl, is an Indian actress & model who has appeared in several Hindi music videos, reality shows and a Kannada film.[3][4] She became noted when she appeared in a famous music video Kaanta Laga in 2002 and as Bijli in film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi with Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan . Later, she appeared in a dance reality show Nach Baliye 5 with her boyfriend. In 2018, she played female protagonist in ALT Balaji's web series Baby Come Naa opposite Shreyas Talpade. In 2019, she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 13 as a contestant.[5]

Personal life[edit]

Shefali Jariwala was married to musician Harmeet Singh from Meet Brothers in 2004. The couple had an ugly divorce in 2009 where Shefali had pressed some strong charges against Harmeet.[6] Later, she married actor Parag Tyagi in 2014.[7]

Career[edit]

Shefali became famous for appearing in a song in the 2002 video album Kaanta Laga. Due to the popularity of the song, she became known as The Thong Girl. After Kaanta Laga she appeared few other music albums. She also had a presence in the movie Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.[8] In 2012, she participated in the reality television competition Nach Baliye 5 with Parag Tyagi. She appeared as a contestant in the reality show Bigg Boss Season 13, but was later eliminated. There were rumors that she was a replacement for Saumya Tandon, from Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain!. But, producers from Bhabhi ji ghar par hai have denied the rumours.[9]
