September 21 is a 2025 Indian Hindi-language drama film written by Raj Shekhar and directed by Karen Kshiti Suvarna in her directorial debut.[1] The film stars Priyanka Upendra, Pravin Singh Sisodia, Zarina Wahab, and Amit Behl.[2] It explores the lives of Alzheimer's disease patients and the psychological toll on their caregivers.[3]

The narrative centers on Kamala (Priyanka Upendra), a caregiver for an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer's (Pravin Singh Sisodia). The film highlights the dignity in endurance and the invisible labor of caregivers, set against the backdrop of World Alzheimer's Day.[4]

The film was produced by Srinivasa C. V. (Visica Films), Vijay Chaudhary, and Ramesh Bhandari, with Preety Ali, Vinay Mishra, Payal Rohatgi, and Raghavan Bharadwaj serving as co-producers.[3] It marks the feature debut of Mangaluru-born filmmaker Karen Kshiti Suvarna. The technical crew includes cinematographer Anil Kumar K., editor Nikhil Kadam, and colorist Ajay Sharma. The film's post-production was handled at Q Labs, FMD, and Chamundeshwari Studio.[1]

The film's score and soundtrack were composed by Vinayy Chandraa, with lyrics by Shashwath Sanil. The film features a song performed by Kailash Kher.[1]

Release[edit | edit source]

September 21 was showcased in the Viewing Room at the NFDC Film Bazaar during the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.[5] The film received a UA certificate from the CBFC in February 2026.[1]
