Praful Dave (born 30 March 1951) is an Indian singer who primarily sings Gujarati language bhajans and folk songs.[1]
Early life and education[edit]
He was born on 30 March 1951 in Amreli, Gujarat.[2] His parents are Devsankar Dave (Father) and his mother’s name is Maniben.[3]
Career[edit]
He used to be a doctor however, he then decided to become a singer.[1] He started his music career with the Gujarati folk song ‘Maniyaro’ in 1976.[1]
In 2012 he was a winner of the Kavi Kag Award.[4]
He received the Sahitya Gaurav Puraskar from the Gujarat State Government.[5] He also received Asmita Sanman Puraskar for Culture Award in 2023.[6]
Family[edit]
He married Bhartiben Kunchala and they have a daughter, Ishani and a son, Hardik. Both are singers.[7][8]
