Paduvaaralli Pandavaru is a 1978 Indian Kannada language film directed by Puttanna Kanagal. It stars Ambarish, Ramakrishna and Jai Jagadish. Aarathi makes an extended special appearance.

The movie was an adaptation of the Mahabharata, fit to a rural scenario with some hints to the various clashes between the Pandavas and the Kauravas and to the characters in the epic.

The film was remade in Telugu as Manavoori Pandavulu (1978) by Bapu who also later directed the Hindi remake version Hum Paanch (1981) starring Mithun Chakraborty.[1]

Film Companion while compiling the 25 Greatest Telugu Films of the Decade, called Rangasthalam as an updated version of Mana Voori Pandavulu which was the Telugu remake of this movie.[2]

Storyline[edit]

The story of the movie is known as a modern version of the epic Mahabharata. The movie highlights the clash between a village zamindar and five men. Pandavaru refers to the Pandavas of the Mahabharata.
