Narsingi is a village in Medak district in the Indian state of Telangana.
History[edit | edit source]
As per our forefathers and village elderly person's saying our village was formed as part of Medak District.
In Medak district there are four villages namely Narsimhareddypet, Sadasivareddypet and Siddipet. As part of villages formation the village Narsingi is formed in the name of Late Shri Narsimha Reddy, a short height person, who was in the Samsthanam of Papannapet Maharaja of the same district. He was a very loyal person in the Maharaja's Samshanam, and the village is named as Narsimha Reddy Pet, as gesture of gift and recognition for the services rendered by Narsimha Reddy in the Maharaja's Samsthanam. The village foundation was laid by Narsimha Reddy as per yardstick measurement which measures as 36 inches per one yard that measures as 12 inches per one foot which was not tallying as per his fingers measurement from the edge of thumb and the end of little finger, in turn he cuts his right hand place where the thumb and the index finger joins tighter at the wrist place. Then the measurement was corrected up to the required mark and the village foundation was laid. The same mark can be seen on the rock laid in front of the feet of Lord Hanuman Mandir outskirts in west side of the village. Really we all the people of Narsingi village will never forget the sacrifice of Narsimha Reddy Garu. Similarly the other villages are formed out of the names as Sadasivapet in the name of Late Shri Sadasivareddy and Siddipet in the name of Late Shri Siddique who were also working in the Maharaja's Samsthanam of Papannapet.
