Manoj Navneet Joshi (born 03 September 1965) is an Indian actor who works in Bollywood films, Dhollywood films & television serials. He is known for his performances in Phir Hera Pheri, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat & Bhool Bhulaiyaa.[1] After graduating from Sir J.J. School of Arts, he began his career in Marathi theatre, also putting up performances in Gujarati and Hindi theatre. He has also acted in over 70 films since 1998, many of his roles being comedy.
He acted in TV series including Chanakya,[2] Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka,[2] Rau (Marathi), Sangdil, Kabhi Souten Kabhi Saheli, Mura Raska Mai La (Marathi). He debuted in Sarfarosh (SI Bajju) alongside his brother who played Bala Thakur in the film. His other works include the film Hungama followed by Hulchul, Dhoom, Bhagam Bhag,[3] Phir Hera Pheri, Chup Chup Ke, Bhool Bhulaiyaa,[4] and Billo Barber. He has also portrayed Chanakya in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.
In 2018, Joshi was awarded with the Padma Shri.[5] He is the vice-president of the Bombay Art Society[6] He is a vocal right wing proponent and a staunch supporter of the RSS-BJP.

Personal life[edit]
Joshi was born on 03 September 1965 to Navneet K. Joshi and his wife in Himatnagar. His younger brother was Rajesh Joshi. Sadly, Rajesh died in 1998.[9] Joshi's native place is Adpodara village near Himatnagar in north Gujarat, but he has spent most of his childhood in Goregaon, near Mahad Konkan in Maharashtra. His wife Charu Joshi, is a film producer and they have two children named Rudra Joshi and Dharmaj Joshi, who are now working in the same industry.
