Indranil Sen (Bengali: ইন্দ্রনীল সেন) is an Indian Bengali politician, male playback singer, actor and producer of Bengali films.[1] He mainly sings in Bengali songs of own albums as well as in other Indian Bengal type such as Jeebon Mukhi, Lokogeety, Rabindra Sangeet & Modern Bengali Song.[2] He has received numerous awards including for BFJA Awards for Best Male Playback Singer.[citation needed] He is serving as cabinet minister in West Bengal.[3][4]
Early life[edit]
Indranil was an engineering student in the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering faculty in Madras in the year 1986[5] and later returned to Kolkata to became a singer.
Music career[edit]
Musical life of Indranil Sen started from the world of Rabindra Sangeet. He is an qualitative songs-tan of Visva Bharati Sangeet Samiti. His famous album released from Visva Bharati are: Adhura Maadhuri, Aaloowkshikhaa Jaaloowk Jaane, Bondhu Aamaar, Chiropather Sangi, Dhoniloow Aaobhaano, Tomaar Aakaash Tomaar Baataash, Paaglaa Hawan, Shilaaidaher Gaan, Utal Hawan, Aapon Mone, Eka, Aaji Shubho Dine, Hiyaar Maajhe, Aamaar Sonaar Baangla, Chokher Aalooye, Pream Eshechhilo, Je Tore Paagol Bale, Aamaar Sakol Dukher Prodip, O Aamaar Desher Maati, Mehgmaalaa, Aaloowkdhaaraaye, Mone Rekho etc.[citation needed]

Political career[edit]
Sen joined to All India Trinamool Congress in 2012. He is a close aside to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He contested in 2014 Indian General elections at Bahrampur constituency but lost to Adhir Ranjan Choudhury of Indian National Congress. Later at 2016 assembly elections he won at Chandhannagar. He was sworn to junior minister on 2016. He retained his seat on 2021.
