India–Norway relations is the relationship between India and Norway. Since the independence of India at 1947, the two nations have maintained a strong and friendly relations like India's relations with other Nordic countries.[1]

India has an embassy in Oslo. Norway has an embassy in New Delhi and three consulates-general in Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Economic relations[edit]

Norway's Telenor, a major Norwegian telephone company has been investing to India, and becomes a major telephone company in India. Telenor has invested over 3 billion $ to Indian market, but had warned about "political implications" if this failed.[2]

In 2014, India and Norway signed 13 agreements, helped strengthening the tie between India and Norway[3] as well as other Nordic nations.

Norway sees India as an important partner for economic developments. India imported over 268.68 million dollars while exported to Norway over 82.3 million dollars as for 2010 census,[4] but has since then diversifying it to reduce the trade balance.
