Hiba Bukhari (born Hiba Qadir on 27 June 1994[VS 1]) is a Pakistani actress who gained recognition for her portrayal of Nageen in the 2019-20 drama Deewangi. Her notable works include Fitoor (2021), Meray Humnasheen (2022), Tere Ishq Ke Naam (2023), and recent projects like Radd and Jaan Nisar (both 2024).

Early and personal life[edit | edit source]

Born in Karachi to an Urdu-speaking family, Hiba Bukhari completed her F.Sc from Jinnah Government College, Nazimabad. She tied the knot with actor Arez Ahmed (her co-star from Bholi Bano and Inteha e Ishq) in an intimate Nikah ceremony on 7 January 2022. The couple shared their pregnancy news via social media on 30 September 2024, followed by the birth announcement of their daughter Aynur on 28 December 2024.[citation needed]

Career[edit | edit source]

Debut and success (2015–2018)[edit | edit source]

Hiba Bukhari began her acting career with a recurring role in Teri Meri Jodi (2015), directed by Syed Mohammad Ahmed. The following year, she played a scheming neighbor in the acclaimed drama Choti Si Zindagi, starring Iqra Aziz and Shehzad Sheikh.

2017 marked her breakthrough with lead roles in Geo TV's Bholi Bano (opposite Syed Jibran and Arez Ahmed) and Hum TV's Thori Si Wafa, where her portrayal of a struggling working woman won her the Hum Award for Best Soap Actress.

Her 2018 projects included Silsilay (as a playful college student with Junaid Khan) and A-Plus TV's Haara Dil featuring Danish Taimoor.

Deewangi and its beyond (2019–2020)[edit | edit source]

In 2019, Bukhari portrayed a girl-next-door in Geo TV's Ramz-e-Ishq before landing her career-defining role as a determined bus hostess in Deewangi - her second collaboration with Danish Taimoor - which earned her a Lux Style Award nomination for Best Television Actress.

Her sole 2020 project was Hum TV's Tarap, reuniting her with Syed Jibran and Arez Ahmed in a vulnerable character role.

Experimental roles (2021–present)[edit | edit source]

Hiba Bukhari's 2021 projects included her portrayal of a married woman with a complicated past opposite Faysal Quraishi and Wahaj Ali in Geo Entertainment's Fitoor, followed by relatively smaller roles in A-Plus TV's Inteha e Ishq and ARY Digital's Berukhi, both featuring Junaid Khan. The following year, she took on diverse characters — first as a resolute Pashtun medical student in Geo TV's Meray Humnasheen, then as a mother fighting for divorce in Hum TV's Pehchaan, before making her fifth on-screen appearance with real-life husband Arez Ahmed in Aan TV's Ishq Nahin Aasan.

2023 saw Bukhari playing contrasting roles — a privileged daughter in ARY Digital's Tere Ishq Ke Naam alongside Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz and Usama Khan, followed by a strong-minded school teacher in Hashim Nadeem's Jhok Sarkar opposite Farhan Saeed. Her 2024 appearances included Geo Entertainment's Jaan Nisar and the lead role in ARY Digital's Radd co-starring Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui and Arslan Naseer. Looking ahead, Bukhari is set to collaborate with Feroze Khan for the first time in the upcoming 2025 project Main Zameen Tu Aasman.
