PeopleEdit

Most of the population is of Dahiya Gotra, which comes under the Jat community. A lot of young people from here have fought for the country's independence. Late Capt. Ram Singh Dahiya, highly respectable person of the village and a brave heart who fought in three wars against the neighbouring countries i.e. 1962 war against china, 1965 and 1971 wars against Pakistan guided the village through his education and experience. He was a dynamic personality who inspires the people even today after 23 years of his death. Hav Hukam Singh ( Dada Hukmi ) appeared very brave in the battle with China in 1962 and illuminated the name of the villages. The people in this village are highly enthusiastic about the education of girls. The step towards the first primary school for young girls was taken by the then Sarpanch Sh. Dalbir Singh in 2002 who worked for the welfare of the villagers in the guidance of his well wisher Sunder Singh Dahiya. He set a great example for other villagers by sending his own daughters for higher studies to other states independently.

People here, are simple and welcome all with open arms. They are really hospitable and would do everything in their control to comfort you. Most of the villagers are sports and political enthusiasts who may be seen glued to their Television sets or Radios when any important sports event or political event goes on. The older men wear white Kurta dhoti and pajamas along with a turban or parna on their shoulders. The women still wear veils and cover their faces as a mark of respect for their in laws. The younger generation has however, come out of the older customs and women too are moving towards gaining equal status. Though it's a long journey to go in the patriarchal set up of the village.

Farming is the main occupation here, though people have taken up different jobs too like Chartered Accountants, teachers, doctor, engineers, architects, defence forces, armed forces and transport sector etc.
