Bankura University was established by the West Bengal Act XIX of 2013 and the assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, of 6th January, 2014.[2][3] It is an affiliating university in Bankura district of West Bengal, India. Bankura University is recognised under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956. It offers courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
